Yesterday for te reo maori we played bingo. The bingo was around the Matariki stars and the stuff around that because Matariki is near. Matariki starts on the 19th of June and finishes on the 11th of July. Matariki is the Māori name for the cluster of stars also known as the Pleiades. It rises in midwinter and for many Māori, it heralds the start of a new year. Matariki literally means the eyes of god. Some of the things that were in the bingo were Wai-ti, Piripi, Mara, they were some of the stuff that were on the paper. But instead of filling out three to win we had to fill out the whole thing.

Matariki/The seven sisters
Matariki is the maori new year it only happens once a year. In 2022 the goverment's making it a public holiday. Matariki is about celabrating the 9 sisters Matariki is a good time to adventure out of town and get away from everything and all the drama in the world right now. Even Maori though there was only 7 stars but people reseach further into it and they found out there was 9 but there could even be hundreds of thousands more. Matariki is a good time for to adventure out of town and get away from everything and all the drama in the world right now.
