Trip Into Town

              Tumahana Performance

On the 29th of March, Tangaroa went to the Town Hall to see the creation story. The year 7's and 8's split up into 2 groups. The year 7's went to Margaret Mahy Park to do a scavenger hunt. The scavenger hunt involved copying a pattern a figuring out how a name of a famous ship and also finding the names of famous birds around the park After I finished my scavenger hunt I went to go play with Noah, Cody and Jake on the slide. After that we went to meet up with all the other classes and have lunch. After that we walked to the Town Hall and got seated to watch the Tūmahana performance. It’s about this man called Tangaroa but in the South Island they call him Takaroa. We had to sit there and watch it for 1 hour and a half. I learned a lot from the performance and I know the two versions of Rangi and Papa. On the way back on the bus it seemed really long for some reason after a while we were back at school and it was nearly home time.
